How this started…After my heavily depressed work loads last month, I want to take a long ride, just me and my little grey pony (My touring bike), to rest my mind. This was how it started.
I did not fix any specific date, I’m a spontaneous guy; so just spontaneous moved.
This is my first blog, created by my friend for me, so I have to write something on it. And because I did not plan to create this blog, hence I don’t have many photos to post for this tour. My apologise.
Day 1 : Kuala Lumpur – Masjid Tanah, Melaka (133.8km)
It was 10:00pm on Monday night; 14th March 2016, while i was fixing my panniers to my bike in the dark (for there was power failure in my house), until everything done, it was 12:30am. Hence i merely had about 4 hours sleep when my alarm woke me up at 4:30am. Had simple breakfast; started to paddle off at 5:45am.
My destiny for today was to Muar, Johore. ( Mission failed, only made it to Melaka.)
It was 6:00am and I was still riding in the dark all by myself for about 20km, total darkness and no other vehicles, I was like the king of the road. Of course, scary too.
6.30 a.m. at BB Salak Tinggi, beautiful sunrise.
Finally! I stopped for a rest, had some coconut juice and enjoy the wind from the sea, and checked on the Google Map for direction.
HELL!!! Sometimes I just hate Google Map!!!
When I followed the map and reached the end of the road, this was what laid to welcome me. Crap!!! Well….Just do it. So, I went in to this palm oil estate for about 0.6metre of this red soiled off-road.
Here I am, crossing border of N.Sembilan into Melaka, The famous Historical State. This state has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. (Sorry folks, no photos of this state to post, but if you’re interested, come see for yourself. LOL)
I reached this “one and only” home stay at Masjid Tanah, Melaka. Only realised I “forgot” to take my lunch and I left my identity card at home. (I guess due to the hot weather today, my brain would’ve “cooked” by the heat during my ride this afternoon that made me could not receive the “Hungry” signal from my stomach. Crap!!!) Now I know why am I so tired.
This hotel is shabby but at least my little pony could stayed in the room.
End of Day 1. The excitement happened on Day 2 onwards!
