Teluk Intan to Sekinchan – 86km
28th June 2016
According to my sexytary, Miss Google Map, it is 180km to Kuala Lumpur. Considered of the stress, decided to split the journey to two days. First will ride from Teluk Intan to Sekinchan, the rice bowl of Malaysia. Then from Sekinchan to Kuala Lumpur the following day.
To challenge this unknown route, I spared extra two bottles water with 1.7 litres each, and my usual two bottles, my pony was carrying 4 litres of drinking water. Thank for the extra water, it saved me from dehydration from the scorching hot sun, I reached the next destination at about 4:30pm.😎
Pushed my bike out from hotel at 8:30am, after breakfast around 10:00am, I started rolling. The terrain was easy, it was flat all the way. My experience told me that, when the road is long and straight and flat, it means it will be a hot and windy stretch. It also means that I may not be able to have shades to rest to avoid the direct sun along the way. And no scenery too. Darn! I hate it when I was so right.😩
Out from town, detour to a near by tiny fishing village, Dato Bagan. My… Didn’t realize there are so many fishing villages in my country. Big and small…😦
The wind resistance was strong and the road was quite narrow. Traffic was quite busy, many trucks passed by in high speed, and that swirling wind created by the high speed trucks when zoomed by me, was another challenge. I have to hold tight my handle, control my balancing and keep my wheel straight not to be pull out to the road.😖
Detour to this small fishing village, Dato Bagan, for a glimpse of the place. It is suburb 5Km away from town. It is a very tiny village, people who stays there mostly are in fishy-business (fishing industry).
The town of Dato Bagan, a lifeless town though it was weekdays.😐
The long and flat road, no shade to savior, and the heat has no mercy to cyclist.😢

- Finally, after all the struggle, here am I. And it was about 4:30pm after almost 5 hour ride. Crap! Now have to look for hotel, clean up and go for a good comforting dinner.😆
