TANJUNG MALIM TO BIDOR – 66KM

Suddenly, I felt a bubbling of excitement like a stream of blood rushed to my remaining tiny little brain, when I know there is a group of cyclist tourer organising a 4 days 3 nights long ride to Southern Perak of Malaysia. Forgetting about the heat of Malaysia weather could actually kill a cyclist riding under the hot sun, I lost my mind and quickly hopped on the wagon with these tourers. And… Sigh… This is how I started my torturing ride again under the hot sun.
I rolled out at 6:00 a.m. from my house to Kuala Lumpur Old Train Station, met the group and boarded to KTM first train at 7:08 a.m. Ticket cost RM10.50 from Kuala Lumpur to Tanjung Malim and RM2.00 for bicycle. Bicycles are allowed only at the first and last cabin. After 1.5 hours, we reached Tanjung Malim Train Station.
Came out from the train station, turned right and headed towards Tanjung Malim town. Traffic was breeze and weather was good, mostly cloudy. After we came out from Tanjung Malim town, we followed route 1 heading to Bidor, our destination for today. The road towards Bidor slowly became narrow and traffic was building up, moreover no shoulder. Vehicles and trucks started to pass us by like river. But fortunately, drivers were polite and considerate. They will follow behind us waiting patiently until it was clear for them to overtake us, when road is too narrow to overtake. After passed the junction to Behrang Toll, vehicles subsided.
The route was an easy climb, mild dragon-back ride. Though the climbs were mild but it was long climb and short descend. Along the way we found many fruits stores and shops for rest. Hence we spent quite a lot of time eating and drinking.
乘客票RM10.50, 单车RM2.00.
My 2 angels, Melissa (in pink) and Jane (in green) were waited for me at the train station. The picture on the right was how we parked our bicycle while in the coach.

Our leader, Willem Hooi, a good leader and organiser. Our trip was perfect because of his good planning.
Tanjung Malim, was a quiet town lies between the Perak – Selangor state border, easily neglected by tourist. But now it’s a town with wall-paintings everywhere.
With relaxing pace and numerous stops of drinking and eating, we reached Bidor at about 6:00 p.m.
