Kiu Kacham – Kasi (45.9km)

The morning of Kiu Kacham was chill with thick fogs.

Woke up with weak body this morning, yet to recover from yesterday’s exhausted ride, we decided to allow ourselves a relax pace today. After all, we are here for touring, not for competition. We wanted to skip the next 15km up hill ride , so we rented a “tuk tuk” (Taxi) to another peak, which is higher than yesterday’s. We will roll down from there to have little fun, then continue riding.

Eventually, we reached at the foot hill of Xalakham Phou Khoun after almost an hour in the tuk tuk van, though it’s only about 15km. Time consumed because of the climbing and winding road. So glad that we were in a van, not on bicycles. From the foot hill, a 5-minutes walk on a muddy road will lead us to the top. Many tribals in formal dress walked up to the peak. I guess this must be their pilgrim place, they were here to offer prayers to their god.
The highest point of all mountains. Panoramic view of all mountains of Centre Loas can be seen from this peak.

Our leader asked permission to have a photo with one of the tribal, after that, we rode down to our next destination.

Mountains everywhere along the way.

According to our leader, once we got over yesterday’s two mountains, the followings will be down hill and flat. But we were still paddled up hill like……. the climbs never ends….
