Expedition to the South of Malaysia: Day 4

Day 4 : Pontian – Tanjung Piai – Pekan Nanas (63.5km)

THIS IS THE DAY!!!  Today is certainly an exciting day for me, cause a coolest destination is waiting for me. It is also the destination that motivated me to paddled 360km all the way from Kuala Lumpur in the intense heat – THE SOUTHERN MOST TIP OF MAINLAND ASIA! WHOA!!!

I had a relatively good night rest and the distance for today is short. Hence I started my ride at 8:00am, after breakfast. The pleasant ride continued from yesterday’s terrain, only 3 hard core but short climbed, the rest were all flat road.

20160318_081313After an hour of ride, I stopped for this “Black sugar drink”. ( I don’t call it black coffee cause the taste was terribly wrong. It tasted like plain water with sugar and mixed with colour to make it black and looked like coffee. YULK!!!)

Tanjung Piai is a tiny fishing village. Beside the blue sky; coconut tress, this stream that lead to the Strait of Malacca, nothing else to see or do. I guess the only entertainment is to go fishing , or observe the monkeys. LOL!

YES!!! HERE I AM!!! The entrance to the National Park at Tanjung Piai. Also the entrance of the coolest point of mainland Asia.

The crazy old horse and his pony at the huge fern leaf formation rock of the entrance. (Whoa! Exciting!)

Covering an area of over 926 hectares, the national park consists of coastal mangroves and intertidal mudflats. Almost 526 hectares of land  here is mangrove while the rest is inter-tidal mudflats.

Taaa dahhh….HERE I AM!…HAHAHA…

WAIT!!!   WTH!!!   CLOSED?!?!?! BALADIHEL!!!. HOW COULD IT BE?! I had paddled 360km just for a peek from this barricade? It’s just about 100 meter away and……HELL!!! CRAP!!! And…. Hmmm… Why not just climb over?  So… I climbed over and quickly ran to the globe. Muahahahaha!!! ( Hey folks, I have to do that, otherwise all my effort will be in vain. May God forgive me.)

YES! YES! YES!…I DID IT! The only living soul (Still alive) standing at the SOUTHERN MOST POINT OF ALL ASIANS!. Wakakakakakakakaka!!!!!!!! (Hell! My heart almost came out from my throat. It is always exciting when do things against the law. WHOA!!!) Sentosa of Singapore just a stone throw from this point. Oops! Was too excited, forgot to take picture of Singapore. Sorry.

After the Southern most Tip of Asia, continued to next rest stop – Pekan Nanas ( Pineapple town). Again, the above was the route showed on Google map. WTH! For 10km I didn’t see any living creature on this route. No creatures with wings – Birds; no hairy animals; like monkeys; no two legs walking human; not even worms, don’t mention about reptiles. I wonder if anything happened to me, how long would it be for them find my corpse. CRAP!

Finally at Pekan Nanas ( Pineapple town). A town that named pineapple but no sign of it at all. Not even pineapple juice; or pineapple cake; or pie…. Whatever. Hmm…Why they called it pineapple town? Not even a pineapple signage when entered into town. Weird.

Finally settled down in this hotel. Gosh… Got to carry my pony up to 1st floor. Insane!

Tomorrow will be another exciting day, my final destination – SINGAPORE! WOOHOO!!!
